On Feb. 18, 2026, Waubonsee Community College hosted its “Chart Your Own Constellation” Spring Engagement Fair in the Student Center of the Sugar Grove Campus from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event gave the chance for several clubs, representatives and organizations to pitch themselves to students, allowing them to explore involvement opportunities and connect with resources that could support their academic and career goals.

The Neighbor Project was in attendance to educate students on their mission of helping low to moderate income families build financial stability and become homeowners. A representative shared information of the organization and distributed free pens, flyers and business cards to any interested students.

PRIDE Club also hosted a booth at the Engagement Fair, where multiple representatives shared information about the inclusive community they are building at Waubonsee. Their vision is to educate members on the broader LGBTQ+ community and advocate for a sense of belonging on campus. Flyers and colorful decorations helped create a welcoming space for students seeking resources.

Weightlifting Club stood out with an interactive approach to recruiting new members. Pictured behind the booth, club President Cole Patrick invited students to test their grip strength, offering a free protein bar to anyone who scored above 110. This challenge was seemingly a fan favorite, helping introduce students to one of Waubonsee’s newer clubs focused on strength training and nutrition.

InterVarsity Christian Fellowship had a booth at the Engagement Fair, with multiple representatives sharing information about how the organization supports students in their faith. The group’s mission is to educate students who choose to follow Christianity about God’s word and God’s love.

Throughout the fair, booths were handing out candy, flyers and other special items for students to keep. The event provided an opportunity for students to explore extracurricular involvement, discover new interests and connect with various organizations on campus. By the end of the afternoon, the Student Center reflected the event’s theme by encouraging students to chart their own constellation and find their place within the Waubonsee community.
